Independent work thrives where people meet, show what they do and learn from each other.

An association built around independent people and shared occasions.

ESD is a registered association in Berlin that represents the interests of self-employed professionals and creative practitioners. We believe that independent work benefits from visibility, exchange and good organisation.

Alongside this, we plan and run events across culture, entertainment and the arts, from performances and exhibitions to conventions and trade shows. Each project is scoped with the people involved and managed from first idea to final day.

What we organise

Six fields of activity, each led by the same principles: clear planning, open communication and respect for the craft.

  1. 1

    Entertainment and recreation

Leisure programmes and social formats for members, communities and public audiences.

  2. 2

    Cultural events

Festivals, talks and gatherings that connect local culture with a European outlook.

  3. 3

    Performing arts

Production support for theatre, music and dance, from venue to schedule and technical needs.

  4. 4

    Visual arts and creative projects

Exhibitions, studio presentations and collaborative projects for independent creatives.

  5. 5

    Event organisation

Concept, budget, logistics and on-site coordination for events of different sizes.

  6. 6

    Conventions and trade shows

Planning of professional meetings and exhibitions, including programme, stands and visitor flow.
